The T Level is a 2 year programme and will include a 9 week (minimum) industry placement and a Technical Qualification, where you will also choose your specialist occupation. Minimum of 5 GCSE grades 9-4, including: English Grade 9-4 Maths Grade 9-4
Who the course is for
This course is for aspirational students who have a passion for working with children within an educational context. This includes all phases of education to include early years (0-5), primary, secondary and post-compulsory education (16+).
What you will learn

You will learn a wide range of subject context and develop your knowledge and understanding in the following core areas:

  • Wider context of childcare and education
  • Child development
  • Supporting education
  • Safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing
  • Behaviour
  • Observation and assessment
  • Equality and diversity
  • Special educational needs and disability
  • Language acquisition (including English)
  • Parents, families and carers
  • Working with others
  • Reflective practice

Embedded within this core knowledge, you will gain an understanding on the ways to support children’s learning and development.

How you will learn
You will be taught in a variety of ways to include workshops, lectures and seminars whilst also undertaking industry placement in a range of settings to help support and underpin the theoretical knowledge gained in class. Digital methods of teaching and learning will be embedded to enable you to access materials at all times.
Work placement
You will attend industry placement totalling 750 hours across the two years – this equates to a minimum of two days a week, with block placements being used throughout the course

You can progress on to a degree in early years
