About the Space
Our Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is designed, equipped and staffed to help you learn in the way that best suits you.
Whether you need to research a topic, revise for an exam, flick through industry magazines for career inspiration, charge your phone, or take advantage of free wi-fi, the LRC has all the facilities you need.
You will find spaces for private study or group work, a classroom, a silent room, and a children’s corner.
Feel free to use one of our laptops, desktop PCs or to bring in your own device.
About the resources
We have over 25,000 items available to borrow, including a diverse collection of books and professional magazines. We have specialist collections including careers, study skills, Isle of Wight, and a large fiction collection.
As a student, you have access to online resources and eBooks which are not freely available to anyone else. You will find all the resources you need in the LRC module of your course on Canvas.
About the Team
Our role is to support you to achieve the best that you can. We love helping people so never be afraid to ask a question. Here are just some of the things we can help you with:
- Finding quality information in books and online
- Referencing and bibliographies
- Microsoft Office: how to store and share documents
- Creating professional documents in Word and PowerPoint
- Navigating Canvas
- Practical things like resetting passwords, topping-up print credit or generally using any PC or device
If you are already thinking about moving into employment, we can help you write your CV, fill in job application forms and nail that job interview.

Love reading? Join our book group! We loan you a book each month and meet up to discuss it over coffee and cake.
Opening times
Term time
Monday - Tuesday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Wednesday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.30pm
Friday: 8.30am - 4pm
Half-term holidays
We are open in half terms and main holidays, but times vary: keep checking the usual communication channels for updates.
The LRC closes on bank holidays, staff development days, quality days, and over the winter break.
