This course is made up of modules that each carry a set number of credits. To complete the year, you'll study 120 credits in total.

You’ll normally attend college 2 to 3 days a week, with additional reading and independent study expected outside your timetabled sessions. Learning takes place through a mix of lectures, group discussions, and hands-on workshop activities, all delivered in supportive small-group environments by experienced teaching staff. You’ll also be encouraged to develop your skills through guided self-study.
Assessment is varied to reflect real workplace practice. You’ll complete coursework, presentations, and both individual and group projects, giving you plenty of opportunities to apply your learning in practical ways. Some modules also include exams as part of the assessment. Throughout the course, you’ll build a set of transferable skills designed to prepare you for progression into employment or further study.

If you’d like to continue your studies, you can progress from the HNC to the HND in Computing with just one additional year of study. From there, further progression to a BSc (Hons) degree is also possible.
