Who the course is for

This course is ideal for people who are interested in working in the health and social care sector. It’s a great choice if you want to progress to further education or prepare for a career in roles such as a care support worker or healthcare assistant.

How you will learn

Learning takes place through a mix of classroom-based study and practical activities. 

Assessment is internal and graded from A* to D, based on coursework and practical assignments.

Work placement

Although a formal work placement is not required, we recommend completing at least 30 hours of work experience to help you apply your learning in real-world settings.

Progression

This qualification opens the door to several progression routes, including:

  • Level 3 Health and Social Care or the T Level

  • Entry into a wide range of job roles such as:

    • Care support worker in residential settings

    • Healthcare assistant in hospitals or the community

    • Support worker in domiciliary or day services

  • Long-term progression to university degree programs in fields like Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy
