You will develop practical English language skills that can be used in everyday life, work, and further study. You will learn how to:
- Speak and listen effectively in a range of situations, such as conversations, appointments, and workplace discussions.
- Read and understand signs, letters, emails, forms, and other everyday documents.
- Write clearly and accurately, including messages, emails, forms, and short reports.
- Build vocabulary for daily life, employment, education, and community activities.
- Improve grammar and pronunciation to communicate more confidently and accurately.
- Use digital skills to access information, communicate online, and complete tasks using technology.
- Understand life in the UK, including local services, workplace expectations, and community participation.
By the end of their course, you will have greater confidence using English in real-life situations and be better prepared for work, further learning, and active participation in their community.
Our weekly sessions are over 2 days, 3 hours each. They are held at the main college campus in Newport.
Attendance to all sessions is essential.
At the end of each ‘block’ of sessions, you will be required to take a formal examination of the skills you have developed.
