Who the course is for
This qualification is for make up artist wanting to progress to a higher level. It builds on existing knowledge and understanding of make up artistry gained at level 2 enabling learners to expand the scope of their technical skills to prepare learners for employment as a make up artist.
What the interview will involve

You will be sent a career plan prior to your interview date to complete and bring along with you on the day. The interview is a two-way process which will give you the opportunity to discuss the course and suitability with the subject tutor.

What you will learn

The content of this qualification is compromised of all the required elements to work effectively as a make up artist including: 

  • Airbrush make up 
  • Camouflage make up 
  • Media make up 
  • Fashion and photographic make up. 
  • Face and body art 
  • Instruction of make up  
  • Create an image based on a theme.  

If you are taking a full-time course, you will be charged a Central Admin Fee of up to £40 at the start of your course. In addition to this there will be a cost involved for purchasing any essential equipment or uniform for your course; you may be eligible for financial support from the college Bursary team, please ask your tutor for more information.

Additional information

This level 3 course has 32 ucas points. This year four students from this course applied to higher education courses and were offered places conditional on them passing their Level 3 course. Some university courses might require further study before progression to a degree course. 

Practical practice of skills at home on friends and family will be an essential part of this qualification.
