It was a fantastic afternoon of celebration and recognition as we welcomed students, parents and special guests to our annual Public Services Prize Giving Ceremony.
The event provided an opportunity to reflect on an incredibly successful year and recognise the dedication, resilience and achievements of our Public Services students. From expeditions and ceremonial parades to volunteering opportunities, leadership roles and community events, our students have consistently demonstrated commitment, professionalism and a willingness to challenge themselves both inside and outside the classroom.
Throughout the year, students have embraced a variety of experiences designed to develop the skills required for careers in the public services sector. Whether supporting local community initiatives, participating in practical training activities or representing the College at public events, they have shown exceptional teamwork, determination and personal growth.
The Prize Giving Ceremony was a chance to celebrate these accomplishments and acknowledge the hard work that each student has invested throughout the academic year. Awards were presented to recognise a range of achievements, highlighting the positive contributions students have made to both the College and the wider community.
A particularly proud moment of the afternoon was the presentation of a High Sheriff Award to student Harrison, in recognition of his outstanding contribution throughout the year.
Harrison has consistently gone above and beyond in his support of the Public Services department, demonstrating exceptional leadership, maturity and commitment. He has played a key role in helping to organise events, supporting staff and fellow students, leading by example and assisting with a variety of operational responsibilities. His contribution to community events, including helping manage car parking, customer arrangements and supporting the successful delivery of the Medina Marching Band 50th Anniversary Tattoo, has not gone unnoticed.
His willingness to step forward, take responsibility and support others has made a significant impact on both his peers and the wider College community. The High Sheriff Award is a fitting recognition of his dedication and achievements, and we are delighted to see his efforts acknowledged in this way.
While Harrison's achievement was a highlight of the ceremony, the afternoon was ultimately about celebrating the success of all our Public Services students. Each student has contributed to the strength and spirit of the department, demonstrating the values of teamwork, service, resilience and leadership that are at the heart of public service careers.
We are incredibly proud of everything our students have achieved this year and look forward to seeing where their continued hard work and determination take them in the future.
