Our Graphic Design students have once again demonstrated their exceptional creativity and talent, achieving remarkable success in the Cherry Godfrey Industry Competition.
The competition challenged students to create professional advertising campaigns for local businesses, giving them valuable experience of responding to a real client brief and working to industry standards. The standard of work produced by our students was outstanding, with four students shortlisted by the judges from a highly competitive field of entries.
An even greater achievement came when one of our students was announced as the overall winner, securing £750 for the College's Graphic Design department.
A special congratulations goes to Cody, whose advertisement for Red Squirrel Property Shop impressed the judging panel with its creativity, strong visual impact and clear understanding of the client's brand. Judges praised the design, commenting:
"The winning advert designed for Red Squirrel Property Shop showed a brilliant understanding of the brand by cleverly weaving core values directly into a striking central silhouette."
The success of Cody and the shortlisted students highlights the high standard of work being produced across our Graphic Design courses. Projects such as these provide students with the opportunity to apply their skills in a professional context, develop their portfolios and gain valuable experience working to commercial briefs.
Competitions like the Cherry Godfrey Industry Competition not only recognise creative excellence but also help prepare students for future careers in the design and creative industries. The achievement reflects the dedication, innovation and hard work that our students bring to their studies every day.
Congratulations to Cody and to all of our shortlisted Graphic Design students. Your success is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the creativity, professionalism and talent within our Creative Industries department.
