Our Foundation Learning students recently enjoyed an unforgettable day at the Army Motorsport Day held at Thruxton Race Circuit, experiencing a unique blend of motorsport, teamwork and hands-on challenges.
The visit provided students with an exciting opportunity to explore the world of Army Motorsport, getting up close to an impressive range of military vehicles, rally cars and motorbikes. Throughout the day, students met serving Army personnel who shared their experiences and gave valuable insight into the dedication, discipline and teamwork required both in the military and in motorsport environments.
One of the standout moments of the day was the Army Go-Kart Pit Stop Challenge. Working together as a team, our students took on the challenge of changing all four wheels on a go-kart in the fastest time possible. Demonstrating excellent communication, collaboration and determination, they completed the task in an impressive 1 minute and 48 seconds, earning 8th place on the leaderboard.
Beyond the excitement of the challenges and activities, the day offered students the chance to develop key employability skills, including teamwork, problem-solving and practical working skills. For many, it was also an opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, try something completely new and gain a greater understanding of the wide range of opportunities available within Army Motorsport.
Experiences such as these play an important role in helping students build confidence, broaden their horizons and connect classroom learning with real-world environments.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and delivering such a fantastic event. It was a truly memorable day that inspired, challenged and engaged our students, and we look forward to taking part in similar opportunities in the future.
