Health and Social Care Lecturer

Location: Newport, Isle of Wight

Salary: AP08 – £29,609–£35,276 per annum (pro rata £11,843.60–£14,110.40)

Hours: 15.6 hours per week

Annual Leave: 40 days (pro rata)

Reports to: Teaching and Learning Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Health and Social Care Lecturer to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a practitioner from the wider health and social care sector—such as a nurse, allied health professional, or social care lead—who is ready to share their expertise and inspire the next generation of professionals.

You will deliver high-quality teaching and training to learners aged 16–18 and adult students across all levels, supporting curriculum growth and ensuring an outstanding learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Prepare and contextualise lesson content, assess learner progress, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Carry out formal assessments and maintain accurate records of student development.
  • Undertake academic tutorials and provide individual support to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, college events, and extracurricular activities.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong partnerships.
  • Complete all related administration to a high standard and within deadlines.
