Who the course is for

Our Level 1 course is perfect for those passionate about diving into the world of performing arts. You'll build a foundation in performance techniques and gain insights into the exciting performing arts industry. This course is designed as a stepping stone for further studies. Through practical activities and creative projects, you'll refine your skills and discover the ins and outs of the performing arts. Plus, you'll develop key skills like communication and teamwork, getting ready for a future in this dynamic field. How you will learn

You will learn through a mixture of practical skill building and creative workshops; lectures; rehearsal and performance opportunities. You will also have academic tutorials with a subject tutor throughout the course where your progress will be reflected on and targets set.

Progression

The Level 1 Diploma supports progression to our BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts Industry Skills, alongside working towards the achievement of Functional Skills qualifications or GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 or equivalent.

The course explores various performance styles and techniques alongside a range of career pathways in the Performing Arts. After completing the Diploma, learners may wish to pursue a level 2 qualification, apprenticeship or junior role in the industry.

Fees
There are no further course fees for the performing arts courses, however, if there are opportunities for trips there may be costs as required.

As a performing arts student you will also have access to Digital Theatre Plus where you can watch recordings of professional works and access resources that may support you with your studies and wider performing arts appreciation.
