This course is ideal for individuals seeking to enhance their professional CAD capability, including aspiring product designers, mechanical engineers, and CAD technicians.

What you will learn

This Level 4 Certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD) provides learners with the opportunity to develop advanced digital design skills using industry-standard software. The programme focuses on the design and development of a fully functional folding electric bicycle, allowing learners to apply creativity, technical knowledge, and ergonomic principles to a real-world design challenge. 

How you will learn

Delivered in person at our CECAMM campus, over 14 weeks, the course introduces advanced concepts in parametric modelling, ergonomics, engineering simulation, and 3D visualisation. Learners will work with Solidworks to create accurate, manufacturable designs and use 3D Studio Max to produce professional visual renders and presentations.

Progression

Upon successful completion, learners will have produced a comprehensive portfolio of CAD work demonstrating both technical competence and creative design ability. The qualification supports progression to higher-level study or employment within design, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
