Entry requirements

There is no entry requirement for studying the English programme but you will be asked to complete an English Placement Test (EPT) and BKSB test which will assess your level of English and determine your course.

Who is the course for?

These two courses are for part-time learners whose native language is not English, who live or plan to live in the UK and who have little or no knowledge of English. It is ideal for people who want to practice their English in an informal environment and meet people of other nationalities.

What will I learn?

This course will help you build your confidence in spoken English to enable you to cope with everyday life. You will improve your pronunciation and understanding of basic constructions and vocabulary. The focus will be on speaking and listening but you will also improve your English grammar.

What can this course lead to?

Students who successfully complete the Beginners course will have the basics to progress onto an ESOL entry level course. The post-Beginners course may lead to an ESOL entry level qualification.

Terms of Payment

The full fee MUST be paid in advance to ensure your place is booked. All fees must be paid in full.

Cancellation

From time to time it is necessary for the college to cancel, amend or amalgamate courses due to insufficient numbers or due to unforeseen circumstances.  We will notify students as soon as possible of any changes.

Refunds

Once classes have started there is a NO REFUNDS POLICY in operation.  However, in exceptional circumstances a refund will be considered on receipt of a written request.

Health and Safety

We will attempt to take every reasonable care to protect students under the provision of the Health and Safety at Work Act.  Likewise, students are expected to act in a safe way.  In workshops where machinery is used, students will be expected to wear protective clothing and footwear.
