The Isle of Wight College recently sponsored the Salon of the Year category at the Isle of Wight Radio Best in Business Awards, held at The Phoenix Centre at Gurnard Pines. This event, which has become a highlight on the island's business calendar, showcased the entrepreneurial spirit and excellence of local enterprises.

Under the glittering lights and amid an atmosphere of excitement, over 40 Island businesses were nominated, with 15 deserving winners emerging victorious across various categories. The evening, hosted by Isle of Wight Radio's dynamic duo, Paul Topping and Emily Wells, was a blend of glamour and celebration.

Among the winners was the beloved Artisan, crowned Independent Retailer of the Year, demonstrating its remarkable impact on the High Street. Shane Smith of Brightbulb earned the title of Employee of the Year, showcasing five years of dedication to his craft. Another standout was Isle of Wight Ice Cream, recognised as the Island Produce Company of the Year for its commitment to quality and locally sourced ingredients.

Adding to the prestige of the event, the award for Best Hairdresser/Salon of the Year, sponsored by the Isle of Wight College, was presented by Principal Ros Parker OBE and Vice Principal Tomas Yates. Elite Hair Design claimed this coveted title, reflecting their dedication to excellence in the beauty industry.

The event not only celebrated success, but also highlighted the collaborative efforts of sponsors like Red Squirrel and the Isle of Wight College in supporting the island's business community.
