Brighton University recently hosted a FREE 4-day Summer School for Post-16 students and Isle of Wight College student Lily-Mae was one of the lucky ones to take part!
Lily-Mae, who is currently studying Level 2 Travel & Tourism, is now aiming to train as a Paramedic. This incredible taster programme in Health Professions gave her a valuable insight into her future career path.
Here’s what Lily-Mae had to say about her experience:
“We followed a set timetable and learned about different parts of the body and how they work. There were classes in paramedic science, podiatry, hand hygiene and more. We even did hands-on activities like testing each other’s blood pressure and using a human-like dummy to listen to blood flow. We also explored Brighton — visited the Sea Life Centre and played volleyball on the seafront!”
Lily-Mae has now applied to study Level 3 Health & Social Care at the Isle of Wight College from 2025 to 2027 a big step toward her dream career!
Well done Lily-Mae we're proud of you! 💙
