We were thrilled to welcome the Isle of Wight Art Society for a private dining experience in our restaurant, where they requested something truly out of this world — an astrology and horoscope-themed menu!
Drawing inspiration from the twelve zodiac signs and the four classical elements — Earth, Air, Water, and Fire — we crafted a unique menu that aligned each dish with its corresponding elemental theme and seasonal produce. This imaginative concept allowed us to explore flavour pairings and ingredients based on both astrological characteristics and the time of year each star sign falls.
Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) were represented through hearty vegetarian dishes.
Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) featured light yet bold poultry-based dishes.
Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) showcased fresh seafood flavours.
Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) brought depth and richness with meat-based creations.

Starters
Capricorn (Earth)
Roasted celeriac velouté, crispy kale and truffle oil.
Gemini (Air)
Pan-fried pigeon breast, salt-baked beetroot, and tempura courgette flowers.
Scorpio (Water)
Moules marinière served with garlic ciabatta.
Aries (Fire)
Braised lamb shoulder croquette, watercress salad and pickled radish.
Mains
Taurus (Earth)
Broccoli, spinach and blue cheese pie, mashed potato, roasted baby carrots, and a wholegrain mustard cream sauce.
Libra (Air)
Confit duck leg, squash purée, kale, fondant potato, red wine poached pear, and red wine jus.
Pisces (Water)
Grilled and butterflied mackerel, tenderstem broccoli, charred leeks, and a chilli, lemon and dill compound butter.
Leo (Fire)
Pan-fried calves liver, crispy lardons, pearl onions, capers, mashed potato, and a rich red wine jus.

Virgo (Earth)
Apple and blackberry crumble served with vanilla crème anglaise.
Aquarius (Air)
Warm citrus rum baba served with vanilla cream.
Cancer (Water)
Strawberry and raspberry pavlova.
Sagittarius (Fire)
Chocolate and hazelnut praline parfait.
This event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate both the seasons and the stars — bringing people together through creativity, food, and a touch of magic. From velvety soups to indulgent parfaits, every plate told a story, rooted in astrological influence and culinary artistry.
