Isle of Wight College Celebrates Excellence at the 2026 Apprenticeship Awards

The Isle of Wight College proudly recognised the outstanding achievements, talent, and dedication of apprentices and employers across the Island at its annual Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony, held on Thursday 12 February 2026 at the prestigious Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes.

Taking place during National Apprenticeship Week, the event brought together apprentices, employers, industry partners, college staff, and invited guests for an inspiring evening dedicated to celebrating excellence in skills development and workforce contribution.

An Evening of Inspiration and Achievement

The ceremony opened with a warm welcome from Sara Weech, Chair of Governors, followed by an address from Ros Parker, Principal and Chief Executive. Guests also heard an engaging keynote speech from Sarah Teague, Strategic Manager for People & Organisational Development at the Isle of Wight Council, who reflected on the vital role apprenticeships play in shaping the Island’s future workforce.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of certificates to apprentices who completed their apprenticeship standards between March 2025 and January 2026, acknowledging their dedication, growth, and determination across a broad range of industries.

These awards highlight the perseverance, ambition, and personal achievements of apprentices, as well as the incredible support and investment shown by employers across the Island.

A Tribute to Apprentices and Their Supporters

Reflecting on the event, Principal Ros Parker praised both apprentices and employers, emphasising that apprenticeships “are life‑changing pathways that connect learning with meaningful careers.” The evening served as a reminder of the powerful impact apprenticeships have on shaping the Island’s future workforce.

The College congratulates all award winners, nominees, and apprentices who have completed their training. Their achievements continue to strengthen the Island’s economy and inspire future generations.
