The BTEC Level 3 Diploma is an 11 unit course divided over 2 years and includes subjects such as:

1. U1 Health & Safety in the engineering workplace (Mandatory Unit) Y1

2. U2 Communications for engineering technicians(Mandatory Unit) Y1

3. U3 Mathematics for Engineering Technicians(Mandatory Unit) Y1

4.U12 – Engineering drawing for technicians Y1

5. U13 -CAD Y1

6. U15 – Primary forming Y2

7.U16 – Secondary finishing Y2

8.U70-Thermodynamics Y2

9. U7 – Engineering materials

10. U56 - E & E principles Y1

11.U4 – Engineering Project (double) Y2


How you will learn

The BTEC is studied through a range of lectures and independent study and assessed through the submission of assignments with an opportunity to achieve Pass, Merit or Distinction

Work placement

Whilst not essential, it is desirable that candidates have a level of exposure to an engineering work environment that will embed the knowledge of the subject matter.

Progression

Students that study this course will have received the foundation knowledge required that equips them to apply for HNC Engineering or even Degree level study (University entry requirements apply)
