About Us

The Isle of Wight College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Teaching and Learning Manager to lead our Technical Trades departments, specialising in Plumbing, Motor Vehicle, and Electrical. This role is pivotal in driving excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring our students receive the highest quality education and training.

About the Role

Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to design and develop programmes in specified curriculum areas.

Manage and review programmes, ensuring they meet student needs and promote inclusive learning.

Undertake teaching, learning, and assessment activities, ensuring high-quality provision in response to learners' needs.

Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment within the area.

Produce high standards of student achievement, progression, and value added.

Manage curriculum areas and perform day-to-day duties to achieve outstanding success for students.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold;

A Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths

PGCE or Certificate in Education or equivalent.

Possess a Level 3 qualification relevant to their teaching expertise and have a leadership/management qualification.

The candidate must have current knowledge and understanding of the FE environment, including funding and government policy, and demonstrate an employer focus in curriculum design and development.

Experience in providing excellent customer service, delivery and assessing across a range of curriculum and qualifications, managing change, data, and QA processes, and curriculum planning and timetabling is required.

Strong communication skills, the ability to lead and be part of a team, innovative problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with learning technologies and software are also crucial.

Mentoring and coaching skills, presentation skills, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour while leading, motivating, and developing staff to build effective teams are necessary attributes for this role.
