Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have the skills and enthusiasm to help support young people to achieve their potential?

Here at the Isle of Wight College we are looking to recruit a new Student Information Advisor who will lead on providing information, advice and guidance to students on financial support. This will include the bursary and loan schemes that are administered by the college, as well as signposting students and their households to other external avenues for support.

You will be responsible for maximising access to our own bursary funding in order to remove barriers to student attendance and achievement, and provide advice on supporting student progression to further study or training. You will work closely with the wider student support team to ensure a joined up and highly effective level of pastoral guidance for students. You will also supervise the day to day work of administrative staff within the team.

Ideally you will have experience of working with and supporting young people. In addition, knowledge of managing budgets and a track record of ensuring effective financial monitoring and the accurate use of recording systems will be required.

You will also need to be a highly organised and effective administrator, who is able to identify ways to improve and streamline processes for the benefit of students as your customers.

Above all, you will need to be passionate about helping students to realise their full potential and help them to overcome financial barriers that may be preventing their success.

In return we can offer a competitive benefits package including:

  • 41 days’ holiday per year including 35 days’ annual leave, 8 bank holidays and 3 ‘given’ days during the Christmas closure period (Full time equivalent)
  • Local Government Pension scheme membership.
  • A variety of training opportunities, including studying for additional related qualifications
  • Family friendly flexible working options
  • A range of other staff benefits, including onsite free gym, on site restaurant and hair & beauty salons, as well as discounted travel options on Red Funnel and Wightlink.
