19.5 hours per week

Temporary Maternity cover of up to one year

£25,522 – £30,468 per annum, pro-rata

(£12,761 – £15,234 per annum actual)

The Isle of Wight College are currently recruiting for a Part-Time, temporary Lecturer in Photography, to bring their passion for this industry to support our students across the provision.  You will have a specific focus on BTEC Photography, providing course leadership and tutorial support in this area, with some cover for GCSE as required.

Your innovative style and approach to learning will be demonstrated through your enthusiasm to motivate and inspire, tailoring your teaching to take account of the wide range of backgrounds and varied academic and vocational aspirations of our students.

Whilst we welcome applications from those currently teaching, for those from a purely industry background full support will be given from a highly dedicated team to help you achieve a teaching qualification through the College’s in-house teacher training programme.

If you would like to work towards your students’ goals with them, you will be able to offer us:

  • Minimum Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject
  • Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Relevant industry experience, e.g. photographic studio practice, studio lighting, working on location
  • Good planning, preparation and organisation skills
  • The ability to enthuse and inspire students
  • Competency with online and electronic resources
