Lecturer/Assessor – Carpentry & Joinery

Fixed-Term in the first instance of up to one year

Do you have experience in Carpentry & Joinery, and would like to make a difference to the future of young people? Are you passionate, enthusiastic and skilled in Carpentry & Joinery with in depth knowledge of the construction industry? You will be able to support and inspire students, visiting apprentices on site and in the workplace to carry out regular reviews, assessments and on-site observations. Alongside this, you will be able to deliver knowledge in the classroom, sharing the wealth of experience you have to enable our students to become the carpentry and joinery professionals of the future.

Whilst we welcome applications from those current teaching, for those from a purely industry background full support will be given from a highly dedicated team to help you achieve a teaching qualification through the College’s in-house teacher training programme.

A key focus however will be how you use your experience and knowledge to inspire and motivate learners as they prepare for their future career in Carpentry and Joinery. 

What you can offer us:

  • A relevant Level 3 or above qualification
  • Solid, relevant practical knowledge and industry experience
  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to attain
