Human Resources Advisor – Fixed Term 6 Months
£22,904 – £27,343 pro-rata as applicable
31.2 hours per week (part time hours considered – minimum of 3 days / 24 hours per week)
The Isle of Wight College is seeking a positive, pragmatic and resilient individual to join our HR team on a fixed term basis with the possibility of this being extended. You will provide HR advice and support to both our managers and our 370 employees predominantly with regards to employee relations casework, recruitment and HR related payroll and contracts including family related leave e.g. maternity.
You will be an effective and tactful communicator, who can help find solutions to issues within the College’s policies and employment law. You will also need to be well organised and able to prioritise your work and deal with issues as they arise on a day to day basis. Attention to detail and good administrative skills are also essential
You will also contribute to achieving the College’s overall priorities, with a strong commitment to ensuring our workforce is equipped to provide students with the best possible experience.
You will have experience of working in HR and/or managing people including managing employee related issues and recruitment. You will also ideally hold a HR related qualification with a working knowledge of employment law and human resource best practice. In addition, a working knowledge of the education sector would also be of benefit but is not essential. In each case, the College will support your wider continued professional development through both internal and external training.
