The Isle of Wight College is seeking an ambitious and innovative individual to manage and further develop our digital and technology focussed curriculum. You will lead a newly formed department which brings together our provision for engineering, digital computing and creative industries. You will also have a cross college role supporting the development of an overall digital strategy throughout the curriculum.

You will build on existing partnerships with employer’s and help to create new links with industry, ensuring our curriculum is enriched through their involvement and is able to meet their needs. In particular, you will support the college, our delivery, partners and curriculum in developing and delivering a Digital Transformation Strategy for the Isle of Wight College. You will also play a leading role in the marketing and promotion of the provision to both students and employers.

The successful candidate will need to be passionate about driving forward curriculum innovation and raising standards in digital and technology-based curriculum. They will also have a track record of improving progress and achievement rates for students across a wide age range and will be effective in producing and analysing management information and to be able to demonstrate how you have used this to develop strategies to help improve performance and outcomes.

You will also need to be an effective leader, communicator and well organised manager, who is able to oversee operational delivery while focusing on delivering strategic priorities.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant experience of working in the education sector, including experience at management level.
  • A proven track record in delivering outstanding results and using data to drive performance improvement. 
  • The experience and leadership qualities to inspire other managers and to ensure a high performing and student focused culture across all staff.
  • An ability to innovate and seek out best practice in teaching and learning, with the aim of delivering the best experience for students and to enable them to progress and achieve.
  • You should have a UK degree or equivalent in a digital technology related subject. Ideally you will also have experience of working in the digital technology industry and/or working collaboratively with industry to develop curriculum.
