Who the course is for
Start your career in plumbing - learn how to deal with leaky pipes, water systems and drainage. A qualification in Plumbing will help you learn the trade. These qualifications are intended for those wanting to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the plumbing industry. At Level 2 this consists of a basic understanding.
What the interview will involve

You will be sent a career plan prior to your interview date to complete and bring along with you on the day. The interview is a two-way process which will give you the opportunity to discuss the course and suitability with the subject tutor.

  • Unit 201/501 Health and safety in building services engineering  
  • Unit 202/502 Electrical principles and processes for building services engineering  
  • Unit 203 Scientific principles for domestic, industrial and commercial plumbing   
  • Unit 204/504 Common plumbing processes  
  • Unit 205/505 Cold water systems  
  • Unit 206/506 Domestic hot water systems  
  • Unit 207 Sanitation   
  • Unit 208/508 Central heating systems  
  • Unit 209/509 Drainage systems  
  • Unit 210 Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering

As well as other Plumbing related units 

How you will learn

You will be taught in a variety of ways to include workshops, lectures and seminars whilst also undertaking work skills, to help support and underpin the theoretical knowledge gained in class.  

This course is offered in conjunction with Functional Skills and GCSEs for English and Maths where required.  

Work placement
As a part of your course, you will be required to complete 36 hours of work experience.
Progression
After the completion of this course, learners can progress to the industry or look to gain apprenticeship and return for the Level 3
