You will be sent a career plan prior to your interview date to complete and bring along with you on the day. The interview is a two-way process which will give you the opportunity to discuss the course and suitability with the subject tutor.
The Certificate is broken down into the following core modules
- Health, Safety and Good Housekeeping in the Automotive Environment
- Materials, Fabrication, Tools and Measuring Devices in the Automotive Environment
- Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance
- Light Vehicle Engines (Mechanical, Lubrication and Colling Systems)
- Wider Skills and Knowledge (E.g. Employability, Equal Opportunities etc)
- Maths and English (Learners with Grade 4 or above will not have time tabled classes, but will still be working on these skills within vocational classes
- Knowledge of carrying out Non- High Voltage Operations on, Near or With an Electric Vehicle
- Theory classroom-based lessons
- Practical lessons based in the Motor Vehicle workshop
- eLearning/self-study and tutorial

A Level 2 Certificate in in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
