Who the course is for
This level will suit you if you're just starting out and want a good basic understanding of the horticulture industry. You need an interest in Horticulture and a willingness to work outdoors.
What the interview will involve

You will be sent a career plan prior to your interview date to complete and bring along with you on the day. The interview is a two-way process which will give you the opportunity to discuss the course and suitability with the subject tutor.

What you will learn
You'll learn practical gardening skills in a realistic setting. You'll learn in a group on and off site.
How you will learn
The Level 1 Diploma is the equivalent to 4 GCSEs grade D-G/1-3. It provides a good progression for Level 2 in Horticulture. For your assessment you'll give practical demonstrations of the skills you learned and complete short answer assessments on underpinning knowledge.
An Award, Certificate or Diploma in Practical Horticultural Skills can help you start a career as a: Gardener, Greenkeeper, Groundsperson, Garden centre worker. After completing this qualification you could move onto a related Level 2 qualification.
