Who the course is for

This course is aimed at 16-19-year-olds, (up to 25 years old with EHCP) who require a more supported transition into college to build confidence, study skills, and independence. You will be offered individual advice and guidance on the right course for you. This will start at your first interview.

This Foundation Learning study programme will include practical options for you to try. However, this programme is also about building a career plan, learning how to socialise at work, and being able to get the best out of yourself, whatever your circumstances. You will also continue to study English and maths.

How you will learn
Foundation Learning has an experienced teaching team who will support you in the further education (FE) setting and college life. Students will receive a combination of class-based learning, alongside some vocational tasters. Learners will be in mixed-ability classes. 
Work placement
There is potential for work experience if available.

Additional information
The course is run over a 15-hour week in 3-hour sessions. Each learner's timetable will be bespoke depending on their levels and vocational choices. We are not able to offer learners an option to choose which sessions they attend, but we aim to be as flexible as we can be.
