Successful completion of an interview is required before a place on the programme can be offered.
Who the course is for
Aimed at 19+ with an EHCP in place and substantial work experience.
The courses are tailored to the needs of the individual who will be required to set their own aims and objectives.
A workplace-based course if you have an EHCP to allow you to transfer skills you have learned on previous college courses into the real world of work with support.
What the interview will involve
This will be a very informal discussion about your past learning experiences to ensure that this is the right programmes for you.
What you will learn
- You will look at realistic Isle of Wight options for gaining employment with the skills and qualifications you have.
- Job seeking skills are an important element of this course.
- Practical employability skills
- There will be external work placements on this course
How you will learn
This is not a class-based course or based on friendship groups in college. It is more like an apprenticeship for those who would be unable to achieve the academic levels required for apprenticeships.
Work placement
There is potential for work experience if available.
Progression
You may move onto employment- this may be paid, part-time, full-time, voluntary or supported as available and which suits you best, or a full six month Supported Internship.

Additional information
The course normally contains at least 12 hours in a work placement, plus 1 ½ day session in college.
