Overview of Role:
With a focus on excellence in practice and improved performance, you will encourage Children, Young People and Family Practitioners to gain the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours that will enable them to actively support each child, young person, young adult and family to achieve their potential. You will inform and improve practice by acting on research and new developments into how the needs of children, young people and families are best met. You will model the behaviours that encourage reflective practice, professional confidence and humility. You will challenge and support practitioners and ensure their practice is safe. You will develop and lead an ethos that will enable and inspire practitioners to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and families.?

Entry Requirements:
The only formal entry requirement is to undertake the Disclosure and Barring Service process, but each employer might also state their own requirements.
Duration:
Typically 24- 30 months if you do not possess one of the mandatory qualifications listed below, otherwise 12 to 18 months

Delivery:
Apprentices will complete work-based learning and will be paid a wage, gaining valuable knowledge and experience. In-house training will be provided by the employer with an Assessor visiting and supporting in the work place. Further training will be provided at the Isle of Wight College, depending on the needs of the learner and the employer. This method of delivery allows for a flexible approach which is tailored to each apprenticeship.
Qualification:
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end-point assessment.
OPTION 1 (Manager in Children’s Residential Care):?Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
OPTION 2 (Children, Young People and Families Manager within the Community):?Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care
Assessment:
The apprenticeship will end with an End Point Assessment (EPA). This measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours each apprentice has developed. Employers will decide when the apprentice is ready to be assessed.
The End Point Assessment consists of:
Situational judgement test
Competence interview informed by portfolio
Career Progression:
Apprentices will usually go onto full time employment or progress to HE
