Higher Education courses at The Isle of Wight College offer you the opportunity to study at a university level and provide excellent career pathways.

Our focus on high quality programmes, which are affordable and eliminate the expense of travelling or relocation, give you the opportunity to achieve the skills and qualifications you need to succeed.

The courses are validated and quality assured by regional universities and national professional bodies meaning you will study to high academic standards. This results in graduates having excellent employment prospects and opportunities for promotion as The College works closely with business and industry.

If you wish to develop your potential and become a leader within your chosen field there are a range of study options available to you. This includes full time Higher National Diplomas (HND) and Foundation Degrees (FdA) or part time Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Higher National Diplomas (HND)

The current provision includes Business, Computing, Early Years and Education, Engineering, Creative Media Production, Learning Support and Teacher Education. These courses can offer opportunities for both school leavers (18 or older) and mature students.

Many of our recent graduates have gone on to achieve first class honours degrees.

A talented team of lecturers who are passionate about their field of study and can apply real world experience and our Student Services team who are on hand should you need any further guidance and/or support.


Our full and part-time courses cost less on average than traditional Higher Education providers, allowing you to ‘Stay Local and Go Far’, gaining higher-level qualifications on your doorstep at substantially less cost than going to a mainland university.


Some of our full-time courses are delivered over only one to two days a week (depending on subject area), allowing you to continue your studies alongside existing commitments.
