The Isle of Wight College has standard entry requirements for full-time college courses, depending on the level of the course to be studied.
There may be additional entry requirements for a small number of specialist courses. If this course is one of these specialist courses, additional entry requirements will be stated below.
Entry requirements – We will work with you to determine your suitability for the qualification. Minimum of 4 GCSEs grade 3/D or above including Maths and English language, progressing students may require a minimum of Level 1 qualification in your chosen subject at Merit or above and English language and Maths at Level 1.
What is this course?
The Level 2 Diploma in Care is a work-based learning qualification which was previously known as an NVQ. It covers the knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary to be a competent Level 2 practitioner within Health and Social Care.
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at people with a passion for sport and physical activity and a certain interest in studying to progress further in these industries.
What will I learn?
You will undertake a number of units covering core knowledge and skills competencies in variety of topics within Sport and Active Leisure. Topics wil include:

How will I learn?
You will undertake learning and assessment in a range of environments and methods. Examples would include classroom and ICT based learning, practical participation and demonstrations of competence in Sport & Fitness-based activities.
Career progression
This qualification allows you to learn, develop and demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to progress to further study within the Sport & Fitness industry, including Sports Science, Gym Instructing & Personal Training, Public Services etc.
