All of Platform One’s work is about contemporary music practice – embracing music performance, live sound, audio recording, music technology, music for the moving image, arranging, composing, songwriting, music industry, marketing, promotion, media production and music business. This broad curriculum represents the skill set needed to ensure a sustainable and realistic career within the music industry.
Existing facilities include purpose built sound-proofed rehearsal rooms, two state of the art recording studios, two music technology suites, teaching rooms, lecture rooms, specialist instrumental rooms, a DJ production room, and tutorial rooms. Platform One have a wealth of meaningful links with the modern music industry. This includes a dedicated ‘Platform One Stage’ at the Isle of Wight Festival.
