The Isle of Wight College has standard entry requirements for full-time college courses, depending on the level of the course to be studied.
There may be additional entry requirements for a small number of specialist courses. If this course is one of these specialist courses, additional entry requirements will be stated below.
The NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business Enterprise is a one-year full time course, which comprises of a selection of carefully chosen business units. Upon successful completion of this qualification (and with the approval of the Isle of Wight College Exam Board) you could progress to Year 2 which is the NCFE Level 3 Diploma for Business in HRM Sales and Marketing.
This is an advanced level programme designed to provide students with a base of study in the business sector and who aim to progress to higher education, and ultimately employment in the business sector.
For adult learners the NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business Enterprise can extend your experience of working in a particular sector. It could also be a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or move into a particular area of employment following a career break.
This course is a full time option and is suitable for students 16 years or above.
The course is designed for students who wish to develop a good knowledge of Business skills; in addition students will learn the fundamentals of business so that they are able to apply their knowledge when running a company.

These skills are essential competencies for progression within further education, higher education and employment.
The course is delivered by knowledgeable, who possess industry and business experience along with specialist qualifications. Teaching sessions incorporate a mixture of activities and on-line learning to ensure students develop skills and knowledge.
Students are assessed via methods as listed above and participation in a cross-department project. This helps students to develop core skills required for business which include the ability to meet deadlines and retention of knowledge as well as application of skills.

There is potential for the qualification to prepare you for progression within education or into employment and it is suitable for those who have decided that they wish to study in detail or work in a particular area of work.

An ability to work in the real world is essential. Employers want staff with qualifications and experience. If you want to run your own business you need to know what it is like. Therefore the course sets out to offer a variety of work experience opportunities these include; guest speakers, real business assignment briefs and external work experience within an organisation, which will be outside of your regular college timetable and current employment (if you are already employed).
