Platform One Degree Results The Best Ever!

Platform One continues to go from strength to strength. Despite such a challenging year, the College’s higher education students have excelled, with the best results ever achieved.

Platform One has been working in partnership with the University of Chichester since 2012, delivering the only full-time undergraduate programme to ever run on the Isle of Wight. Written by Platform One, the BA (Hons) Commercial Music degree offers a diverse range of subjects that interface directly with the modern music industry.

This year, six students received a First Class Honours degree at the University of Chichester graduation ceremony (that took place on the 18 August). Twelve students gained a Class Two/Division One (2:1) result. These are the best results ever achieved since the programme launched in 2012.

“We are so proud of each and every student. This has been a challenging
time and students have been so resilient. We look forward to seeing another
cohort of students launch their creative careers. Such incredible results.”

Peter Pontin – Platform One Director & Academic Advisor

The success is true testament to the talented students and the fantastic staff
team at Platform One.

“I had so much support offered to me constantly, from the small things and
the big. I finished with a 2:1 and couldn’t be more thrilled and would not have done it without Platform One sticking behind me the whole way.”

Romy Battista, BA (Hons) Commercial Music

“P1 couldn’t have been more supportive during the pandemic. Anytime I
needed it, the tutors were available to help me with anything.”

Liam Chessell, student

“I have studied music at Platform One for 6 years and their support has
been phenomenal when I needed it. I can never fault them because
they really look after us on a daily basis. Just two words…Platform One!”

Jack Taylor, student

“It was wonderful to have Platform One directors, colleagues and the
amazing Platform One students at the graduation – we are so grateful for and appreciative of our partnership”

Dr. Mark Mason – Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Chichester

Platform One College of Music won the accolade of BTEC College of the Year this year, so to also see such success with the higher education
programmes is significant.

Platform One is still accepting applications for our music courses starting this September.
