Platform One College Of Music, Isle Of Wight Wins Prestigious Accolade At The 2021 Btec Awards


The exceptional achievements of Platform One College of Music were
celebrated yesterday, as the independent college was awarded the prestigious silver BTEC Award for BTEC College of the Year 2021 Platform One, which is twenty years old this year, was recognised by the international exam board Pearson, above all colleges across the United Kingdom.

Platform One’s hard work and dedication was celebrated at the 11th anniversary of Pearson’s annual BTEC Awards hosted online on 07 July 2021.

students have achieved such fantastic results, with 96% progressing to their firstchoice universities – we are so proud”.

BTEC alumni including Academy Award-winning producer and Head of Film and Animation at ScreenSkills Gareth Ellis-Unwin, entrepreneur and founder of SB.TV Jamal Edwards MBE, and award-winning actress Lucy Fallon were among those also presenting awards.

Nearly a million learners across the globe completed BTEC courses over the past year. The career-focused qualifications are a vital route for those pursuing careers in sectors such as IT, business, the creative industries, healthcare, engineering, construction and future industries.

Platform One has been recognised as one of the true leaders in innovative and creative education. The Isle of Wight should be proud of this outstanding college. Study programmes at Platform One for September this year are still recruiting and include a brand-new Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Production, equivalent to three full A Levels.
