The Isle of Wight College is offering school leavers the opportunity to experience various areas of engineering to help expand their options when leaving school and starting further education this September.

Sessions are running bi-weekly throughout June and July, starting on 14th June between 4pm and 6pm. Visitors are encouraged to book to ensure availability of workspace and materials for everyone.

As an attendee, you will be able to choose from:

  • Virtual welding
  • Hand-fitting working devices
  • Exploring electronics
  • Computer aided design
  • Exploring composites
  • Discovering marine engines

Students that gain a place to study at CECAMM (Centre of Excellence for Composites, Advanced Manufacturing and Marine) have incredible opportunities of integration into the workplace with local projects such as the recent Queen’s Jubilee Beacons and large local engineering companies such as Vestas and GKN.

Sessions will be running:

14th June 4pm - 6pm (virtual welding & hand-fitting working devices)

28th June 4pm – 6pm (electronics & computer aided design)

12th July 4pm – 6pm (composites and marine engines)
