The Isle of Wight College is pleased to announce that it has secured funding from the Department for Education to help support the delivery of new Level 3 qualifications in the academic year commencing September 2022.
Platform One continues to go from strength to strength. Despite such a
challenging year, the College’s higher education students have excelled,
with the best results ever achieved.
In the year that Platform One was recognised as the BTEC College of the Year, students have achieved outstanding results, with sixteen students achieving triple distinction grades in the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music.

On Friday 9th July, the Isle of Wight College held their annual Student Awards. The awards are held to reflect on the college year, celebrate students successfully completing their courses and to recognise a number of special award winners in categories such as outstanding achievement, high level of participation and award for excellence.
The exceptional achievements of Platform One College of Music were
celebrated yesterday, as the independent college was awarded the prestigious silver BTEC Award for BTEC College of the Year 2021 Platform One, which is twenty years old this year, was recognised by the international exam board Pearson, above all colleges across the United Kingdom.
Since last year, colleges around the country have been involved with running donation boxes for their local Foodbanks (an ELSEC initiative).
Julie Cobb launched our own Festive Foodbank and took charge of the project, liaising with our facilities team to arrange delivery of the food to the foodbank every Friday.
We are pleased to announce that the Isle of Wight College has been granted the title of “University Centre, Isle of Wight” by the Department for Education (DfE), in support of its successful history of delivering higher education (HE) courses in collaboration with university partners.
Last month, business students from the Isle of Wight College undertook training to become environmental auditors for the Green Impact programme.
The Young Enterprise program is embedded in the Business level 3 program where all year 1 students are encouraged to take part in the YE program giving them the change to try out running their own business learning and using lots of transferable skills coming up with their own business idea where the Isle of Wight College encourages the students to always try for a sustainable and/or environmentally friendly product for the island.
