The HR apprentice assists and supports the HR team, providing a high quality and proactive HR Service to the HR Director and HR Business Partners. The HR apprentice provides efficient general and administrative HR support to employee, escalating any issues to the HR Business Partner where necessary.

Working as part of a team, this position will provide a great opportunity to learn a variety of skills within a Human Resources function.

 Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Work with a safety mind set
  • Produce offer letter and contract of employment for all new hires as per hiring template.
  • Administration of the full onboarding process and activities, ensuring the employee is set up on the MVOW HR system, with the UK payroll team and the benefit providers.
  • Produce all employment change letters.
  • Ensure monthly payroll is coordinated and information is supplied to the UK payroll team in a timely manner.
  • Support with the leaver process.
  • Coordination of UK benefits, including Employee Assistance Program, Private Medical and Private Dental.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects.
  • Updating the paper and electrical employee files.
  • General HR administration duties.

Skills Required

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate and develop professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously.
  • Self-starter.
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving environment.
  • First class written and verbal communication skills.
  • A discreet and confidential attitude.

A willingness to provide support as required within a busy HR function to support business need.

Personal Qualities   

  • Administrative experience
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Excellent IT skills including a sound knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, AX.
  • A basic understanding of a HR function, and or Payroll

Qualifications Required   

  • 5 GCSE’s inc Maths & English

Apprenticeship Standard

  • Human Resources Level 3 apprenticeship standard (18 months -24 months + 3 Month End Point Assessment)
  • Functional Skills if not already achieved a GCSE C (or above) in Maths and English (or equivalent qualification)

Working Week

  • 37.5 hours per week 08:00 – 16:00 with ½ h for lunch, this will include workshops at college.

Weekly Wage

  • £18,000 per Annum

Apprenticeship Standard

  • Apprenticeship duration will be between 18 month- 24 months + 3 Month End Point Assessment
  • Functional Skills – if not already achieved a GCSE C (or above) in maths, IT and English (or equivalent qualification) 
  • There is a requirement to complete 20% off job training, College attendance will contribute but time spent either learning something new, other courses or any support work you that is not your usual role will also be counted

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £4.15 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
