Here at The Isle of Wight College we work with a number of employers, in a vast array of industries. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work for Right Wire Ltd as a Business Administration Apprentice.

Based in Merstone, Right Wire Limited is an established Island business with over 10 years’ experience of successfully delivering electrical services to domestic, commercial and leisure industry customers.

Right Wire is a customer focused business which is reflected in their business values.

Rather excitingly, the business is now looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join their busy office and carry out the role of office administrator.

The successful candidate must have a can-do attitude with the ability to learn quicky and will undertake the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls professionally and pass on clear messages
  • Update and maintain company CRM
  • Assist the operations team with scheduling and appointments
  • Cover reception desk which includes greeting staff and visitors
  • Answer and act on emails
  • Taking payments using PDQ card machine
  • General administration duties

Qualifications Required:

GCSE grade C/4 or above in English & Maths (or equivalent qualification and/or ability to work towards these Functional Skills) 

Apprenticeship Standard: 

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English if required and if not previously achieved GCSE grade 4 or above.
  • There is a requirement to complete 20% off the job training, time spent either learning something new, other courses or any support work that is not in your usual role will also be counted.
  • Attendance at Isle of Wight College as required.

Working Week:

  • 40 hour per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • 08.30 – 17.00


£172.00 per week

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £4.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
