Who the course is for
The Level 2 Extended Certificate covers knowledge, transferable skills and behaviours that will develop your employability and academic skills to progress to employment or a level 3 programme of study.
This qualification is aimed at anyone wishing to follow a career in a dynamic and challenging industry, that offers a variety of employment opportunities at all levels. You may be interested in selling holidays as a travel agent, living and working overseas as a holiday rep or working in an airport or guiding tours around a wonderful city. Whatever you choose, this course will get you on the right path.
What you will learn
How to deal with different customer types, organise and run an event. and the importance of travel and tourism to the global economy. You will also have an opportunity to design your own international airport and spend time in our cabin simulator completing fun and realistic role-plays.

How you will learn
There is a mixture of classroom learning, practical learning through role play and presentations or in real-life work placement settings. You will get to visit places on the Island and the Mainland as part of your learning, which will also support your independence. Online learning, using a variety of platforms will also be part of your weekly programme, in addition to regular one to one academic tutorials. Apart from GCSE, there will be no exams as part of your course.

Progression
Level 2 Travel and Tourism students have progressed to Level 3 if they meet the entry criteria. Others have progressed onto Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships in Travel and Tourism environments such as Travel Agents and employment in the Tourism sector.
